Privacy Policy
Last updated August 12, 2026
This policy explains what personal data StackCredits collects, why, and what you can do about it. StackCredits acts as the data controller for the data described below; registration details of the operating entity will be published here. For any request about your data, contact partnership@stackcredits.com.
1. The short version
There are no user accounts and no paywall on this site. You can read the entire database without giving us anything. We only hold personal data about you if you send it to us through the contact form or by email.
2. What we collect
Information you send us. When you submit the contact form we receive the fields you filled in: your name, work email address, company name, company website, where and when the company was incorporated, funding stage, a description of what you are building, programs you have already claimed, and any message you add. We also record the page you submitted from and the time of submission.
Correspondence. If you email us, we hold that email and our reply.
Server logs. Our web server records standard technical request data, including IP address, request time, requested URL, referrer and user agent. These logs exist to keep the site available and secure, and are not used to build profiles.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. We do not ask for and do not want your passwords, provider logins, API keys, payment details or government identifiers — never send them to us.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|---|
| Reviewing your situation and replying with the programs you may qualify for | Form submission, correspondence | Legitimate interests, and performance of a service you requested |
| Answering questions from credit programs and partners | Form submission, correspondence | Legitimate interests |
| Keeping the site available, secure and free from abuse | Server logs | Legitimate interests |
| Complying with legal obligations | As required | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not add you to a newsletter you did not ask for.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that operate our infrastructure on our behalf — hosting, email delivery and, where used, an internal messaging tool for handling incoming enquiries. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. We may also disclose data where we are legally required to.
We do not pass your details to credit programs or other third parties without asking you first. If a route to a program requires an introduction, we will ask for your agreement before making it.
5. Where your data is processed
Our infrastructure may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers are covered by an appropriate safeguard such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
Contact form submissions and correspondence: up to 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted, unless a longer period is legally required. Server logs: up to 12 months.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and comparable laws you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise any of these, email partnership@stackcredits.com — we will respond within one month. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Cookies
The site sets no tracking cookies. See the Cookie Policy for detail.
9. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access to submissions is limited to the people who need it to reply to you. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send us anything you would not be comfortable seeing in an email inbox.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes affecting how we use data you already sent us will be communicated to you directly where we have your email address.
