Cookie Policy

The current position
StackCredits sets no cookies. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel, no session cookie and no third-party tag on this site. That is why you are not being asked to accept anything: there is nothing to consent to.
The site is a set of static pages. Nothing is stored on your device except your browser's ordinary HTTP cache, which is controlled by your browser rather than by us.
Local storage
One entry, and only if you ask for it. If you use the light/dark theme switch in the header, your choice is saved in your browser's localStorage under the key sc-theme with the value light or dark. It exists so the site does not flip back to the wrong palette on your next visit.
That value never leaves your device: it is not a cookie, it is not sent with requests, and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser storage removes it, after which the site simply follows your operating system's appearance setting. If you never touch the switch, nothing is written at all.
Nothing else is stored. Filters on the database page are held in the page address itself (for example ?category=cloud), so a filtered view can be shared as a link, and that involves no storage on your device beyond the ordinary server log entry described in the Privacy Policy.
Embedded third-party content
We do not embed third-party fonts, videos, maps, chat widgets or social buttons, so no third party can set a cookie through this site. Links to provider websites are ordinary links: once you follow one, that provider's own cookie policy applies, not ours.
If this changes
If we later add analytics, we will use a privacy-preserving, cookie-free tool where possible. If any measurement or functionality genuinely requires a cookie, we will publish the specific cookie, its purpose and its lifetime on this page and ask for your consent before setting it — consent first, cookie second, not the other way round.
